Gabriola Island
Photographer
Francis Moss
The property is located on a protected riparian area complete with a stream and lush vegetation including Japanese maples, abundant bamboo, and a 50-year-old mature apple orchard. The property is also frequently visited by a family of wild turkeys who coexist with the family dog as well as their 2 outdoor cats.
The architecture and interior design was built using passive design to create the vaulted structure, and was inspired by a combination of Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics, to create a minimalist design with natural elements that complement the island's native landscape, transforming the property into a harmonious haven for three generations.
