This fireplace renovation was a cosmetic refresh for an art-forward home in Varsity. Rather than removing the existing stone, the design focused on softening and modernizing it with a custom patina lime wash finish that muted the original colour variation while preserving texture and character. The dated hearth was replaced with a new soapstone slab, adding a refined and contemporary contrast. The result is a grounded architectural feature that complements the space without competing with the clients’ artwork and furniture collection.
